I love learning languages

I love learning languages.

I love to be able to at least say basic words in other languages. I enjoy finding out where people are from and saying at least hello and good bye.

I love seeing their faces when I say something in their language. For some, it is completely unexpected. I love seeing the smile on their faces.

I haven’t gotten to this point yet, but I would love to speak another language fluently (besides English and Spanish). I am probably closest to being fluent in French and Portuguese. (I have the vocabulary of a native 3 year old.)

I would love to live in a country where I would be able to practice another language and be able to speak it only a daily basis.

One of my dreams is actually to be a polyglot. It would be awesome.

I love to learn languages.

I love to say good morning

I love to say good morning.

I love to see people cheer up when they say good morning back to me. It sets the mood for the rest of the day. People have a happier demeanor and I feel good too.

Of course, there are those that hardly ever say good morning, but I don’t let that affect me. I just continue with my good mornings to the next person. Stay happy and drive on.

I love saying good morning.

I love giving compliments

I love your smile!

I love giving compliments.

I love to see the reaction on people’s faces, their smile. I love it when they appear to be serious and I compliment them or say a kind word and they suddenly brighten up.

I love brightening up someone’s day. I love to tell someone that they are wearing a nice dress, or a nice shirt or nice shoes. I enjoy hearing the words thank you from them, but I don’t expect to receive any return compliments.

Sometimes I have to force myself to compliment others. Not because I don’t believe what I’m going to say, but because I have to get over the fact that someone will think that I am weird. I talk myself into it complimenting others by just getting over it and speaking.

I love to compliment others on the colors they are wearing or the prints they are using or on the haircut they just had. The little things make a difference even if some people are not receptive to compliments.

I love telling others that they have done something well or that they have put in a good effort. I like to think that it adds a little highlight to their day. I know it does for me.

I feel good telling others positive compliments that I really believe. That’s why I will continue to do it.

I love giving compliments.

I love to help others

I love to help others.

I feel great joy in doing so.

I love when people come to me for help and also when I offer my help to others without them asking. I understand that for some it may be difficult for them to ask. So on some occasions, I work on getting over my initial hesitation to help and just do it.

Most people are appreciative of the assistance I may provide. Even if some are not, I am still happy to offer my help.

I sometimes wonder if my help does have a real impact, but when I see someone smile because of me, I am happy and I love the feeling.

I love doing the little things. I love holding the door for anyone. I love helping someone carry something if their hands are full. I love picking up loose change or papers that someone may have dropped accidentally.

I love letting someone go in front of me in line at the supermarket if they only have a couple of items and I have a basket-full.

I love to help others.

I love to run

I love to run.

I love running outside and feeling the wind in my face. I love hearing everything around me, the leaves rustling on the ground as I pass by, the breeze in my ears, and the trees moving their branches.

I love running in the rain. I love getting completely drenched when running and splashing through puddles.

I enjoy sweating and feeling my heart pounding. I also love to run easy and relaxed and take it all in.

I love running races, looking at people run and having people look at me run. I enjoy the friendly competition of someone being ahead of me and me trying to catch to them. Having them pull away as they feel or see me coming and being able to pass them. Or oftentimes, I am not able to pass them and they beat me. That’s OK. It’s a great feeling to know you have tried your best.

I love the feeling of crossing the finish line at races or simply finishing my run. It provides a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

I enjoy running around my neighborhood and work and greeting others runners or people that are outside.

I love the peacefulness of the run. It is a form of meditation. Relaxing. Fulfilling.

I enjoy long runs. I love to count when I run. Yes, I count the steps I take, sometimes just to see how many steps I need to run a mile. I also count my steps to keep a steady cadence, the steps per minute. I like to sing military cadence in my head and parts of songs that have the same beats per minute as the cadence I desire to keep.

I love knowing that I’ve done my body good.

I love to run.

I love to write

I love to write

I don’t think that I’ve ever said it before but it’s true. And I especially want to make this affirmation since this is the beginning of my book.

Yes. I am writing a book.

Believe it or not, that last sentence was a little difficult to write. It is difficult to make a true commitment. By writing this, I am committing to writing a post every single day for at least a year in order to complete my book.

What will it be about?

I’ll just tell you want I think the title should be:

I love…

Because I want to share my loves. Yes, I am naive enough to believe that I can make the world a better place and I hope inspire others to do the same through their expressions of love.

Will it happen?

Who knows. But if even one person is positively affected, then I will be satisfied. Regardless, this journey will be a great experience as I share more and learn to become more loving. And yes, I still have a lot to learn…
